Goldflam was inspired by Jewish authors such as Franz Kafka, Bruno Schulz and Karel Poláček. In his later play Z Hitlerovy kuchyně (2007; From Hitler’s Kitchen), six mini-stories linked by the character Adolf Hitler add up to a slightly unorthodox perspective of Hitler.
Goldflam originally wrote the play inspired only by Mahler’s diary. In the second version of the play there was also another source of inspiration: the story about the filming of a propaganda documentary in Theresienstadt.
